Roberta has built four home recording studios over the years, including a room in Kansas City that received its own fan mail. Now working from a custom-built Vocalbooth in Portland, Oregon, she keeps one eye on the script and the other on the bobcats and coyotes that roam the hills near her new home. (The cats, needless to say, don’t get out much.)
Switching between Neumann and Sennheiser mics depending on the project and her whim, Roberta uses both Avalon and Focusrite preamps (switching them around when she gets bored). She sends her voice all over the world through digital transfer in any format or real time via ISDN, Source Connect or ipDTL. Producers can direct by phone patch or Skype. Roberta carries an engineer’s license, which means she actually knows what all the buttons are for.
